AOL Consultants experience covers all the key steps of offshore field developments including, but not limited to:
- Pre-project phase and system design :
e.g. feasibility and conceptual studies, evaluation of options and costing, pre-engineering of preferred options, F.E.E.D., economic analysis and planning, safety cases and risk analysis.
- Project phase - Detail design, procurement, office and construction yard supervision:
e.g. Governmental applications such as Annex 'B', basis of design and detail engineering, detailed planning and cost control, preparation of specifications and tender documents, Pipeline Works Authorizations (PWA), technical evaluation of vendors, bid evaluations, placement of contracts, administration, supervision and approval of detail engineering and construction, land testing, integration testing, safety cases and risk analysis.
- Project phase - offshore installation supervision, approval and start-up:
e.g. specification and supervision of seabed surveys, approval of procedures for offshore installation (subsea, pipelines and risers), supervision of hook-up and commissioning, start-up, operations manuals, IMR manuals and detail planning.
Engineering Resources and Technology Transfer
Design manuals, cost estimating system, cost database, vendor / contractors technical files, offshore fields and projects files have been developed over the years to facilitate our engineer's work. They are based on systems developed for fields in the North Sea over the past 28/30 years. They enable our consultants to make quick and reliable assessments of most subsea production and flowline problems. We also keep in close contact with the latest developments in new subsea technologies, e.g. subsea processing, multiphase pumping and metering, standardization of subsea components, etc...
They are prepared to do a large proportion of the work in clients' offices. Training courses can be organized as some of our consultants are regularly lecturing at Cranfield and other Universities, with Professional Institutes and on commercial courses on topics such as offshore floating production, underwater and subsea engineering, safety engineering, project management, economics, financial management, legislation and administration in the oil industry.
International Experience
Our consultants have worked on various projects for long periods in Scotland, England, France, Norway, Sweden, U.S.A, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Zambia. They have worked for shorter periods in Italy, Canada, India, Hong Kong, Holland, China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Australia, Angola and Nigeria.
